Appearance:
Studies conducted on this variety have made it possible to highlight some common qualities, among many, with Corvina, Primitivo and Pinot Noir. It should however be said that the wines produced with Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso are, from an organoleptic point of view, rather different from those of these varieties. The Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso is widespread and present in the entire territory of Friuli Venezia Giulia, also arriving in certain areas of nearby Veneto. The name of this famous Friulian variety is due to the red color that takes the stalk in full maturity, a condition that – it must be said – reaches late compared to other grapes of the area. The wines produced with Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso are noted for their good structure – frequent in fact the vinification in cask or barrique – and often in the mouth gives a pleasant sensation that recalls the almond. A versatile grape with character, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso is able to create wines suitable for long maturation, restoring – with time – interpretations of considerable value Production process: Maceration in wood barrels for 20-25 days, during this period they are alternated pumping over, delestage and plunging, follow the drawing off the lees. Aging: Aged in small oak barrels for 20 months, follow 6 months of ageing in bottle before release the wine to the market

Color: Intense Ruby Red. Nose: Blackberry, Morello Cherry, Plum, Blueberry, Violet, Raspberry, Cyclamen, Green Pepper, Cloves and Almonds. Palate: Full of taste, good body , round and smooth with long finish reminding the red fruits
